Edith Long of Sun City Center asked us to publish her poem about the Rays. "We have buses that take us to your games and we watch it also on T.V.," she wrote. "We're so proud of the Rays."
Congratulations Rays!
Your great fighting spirit,
Your praises we shout!
Your losses just spurred you.
You were down but not out!
With will and determination,
Game seven's work had to be done.
Then -- mid cheers and Hoo Rays!
American League Champions you've become.

I Am A Red Sox Fan. An American-------
I am a Boston Red Sox Fan. I am an American League fan. I want the Rays to win. If the Rays win, it should boost attendance and the Rays will stay in Tampa and I can see the Red Sox when they come to town. We hit l,800,000 fans attendance in 2008. As World Champions,we should be able to draw 2 million in 2009 or more. Whip em, Rays. God bless.
Rays! A remarkable team
I am not an avid baseball fan nor will I become one because of the Ray’s accomplishment this season. However, I do appreciate and respect loyal team effort in any kind of sport such as the Rays displayed this baseball season and I must give credit where credit is due.
The Rays began this season with higher expectations just to get out of the cellar and become competitive in their league. Not only did they become more competitive but are hosting their first World Series 4 to 7 games away from becoming world champions of baseball.
Many people throughout the country feel the Rays were lucky and had a “Cinderella” season as myself included but one thing that cannot be taken away from them is they came together as a team, played as a team and acted as a team. They overcame key injuries, won when they had to and never gave up on themselves.
The Rays are indeed a remarkable team showing the rest of the league and other professional sport teams that one player does not make a team; that the true meaning of the sport is team effort in winning and that winning is a team effort always.
I wish the Rays the best of luck in this World Series and no matter what the outcome, I am very proud of them.
